There are now a great number of products available for the purpose of protecting your goods in transit other than the simple bubble wrap and cardboard. There is now packaging available that is for the packing of specific house hold items so they are securely held in place throughout the transportation.
Some of the various products and the different household items they are designed to protect include the following;
Packaging for Delicate Items
For delicate items such as CD’s or DVD’s there are now special padded cases you can buy to put them in to stop the case from being damaged or the disk itself. These envelopes are lined with bubble wrap so provide great protection and are exactly the right size to fit the disks in comfortably. Another item that works well at protecting larger delicate items is void fillers such as polystyrene chips these work well because the item/items can be placed in a normal cardboard box and then the chips fit around the item and provide a great amount of protection. There are also specialist cardboard boxes with dividers for each bowl or plate to sit in securely with out banging into each other.
Packaging used For Large Household Items
This means packaging for protecting items such as sofas and TV’s. There are plenty of different products to use for items such as this from plastic covers for the sofas and soft furnishings to polystyrene corner covers for protecting the TV. All of these items come in various sizes to fit most variations of the products, although for some items you may need to get the exact fit from the manufacturer of the product.
Clothing Packaging
There are flat pack cardboard temporary wardrobes for you to transfer your clothes from one house to another and so you can still dismantle your wardrobe for easy transfer. There is padding on the inside of the wardrobes so the clothes are held in place and don’t fall off the hangers onto the floor.
No matter what the piece you are packing away there will now be a suitable type of packaging for that item no matter how big or small. Of course the most widely used and still very effective, whilst being low in cost are cardboard boxes and scrunched up newspaper or bubble wrap, although they may not be that effective at protecting goods that can be damaged easily.
