Freight companies are companies that specialise in the moving of freight, or cargo, from one place to another. They are divided into several sections, International Freight Forwarders - which ship goods from country to country or Domestic Freight Forwarders.
Methods of Shipping Goods
There are various methods of shipping goods, air, road, sea, rail. Some companies offer multi-modal solutions, this means that they offer more than one service, in many cases Air and Sea and in some cases Air, Sea and Road.
There are thousands of freight companies in the world, many of which are members of certain organisations, such as BIFA, FTA and other regional organisations.
The most famous and popular companies are the United Parcel Service, DHL and FedEx. Some freight companies specialise in certain goods. Courier companies are a spin-off from freight forwarders. There are various types of courier companies, such as airfreight courier companies or road couriers.
Cargo Cases For Shipping
A cargo case is a wooden container which is tightly packed along side other "c-cases" into a large steel shipping container. The average container can be anything from 20ft to 40ft .The internal dimensions of a 20ft shipping freight would approximately be 5850 x 2340 x 2280 milimetres.
Cargo cases a versatile way of shipping abroad or across the country. All wooden cargo cases must be heat treated to meet ISPM15 export requirements.

- All cases are made from timber with 6mm plywood and metal edged collar.
- Lids are made from 6mm plywood with a timber frame.
- The Foldable collar is 6mm plywood thick with metal edges and slots over the base.
- Two or three bearer (depending on case size) made with a timber base allowing easy access for fork lift trucks to pick them up.
- Cases are normally delivered flat packed and are assembled by the customer simply by slotting collar over base, placing lid on top and nailing the case shut closed as required.
